What Was The Driving Force For You To Start Your Business?

The inspiration behind Githam Consulting came from a strong belief that every organization’s greatest competitive advantage is its people. During my two decades plus in leadership and HR roles, I observed that many businesses—especially MSMEs—had tremendous potential but often lacked the right people, leadership, and culture frameworks to scale sustainably.

We believe that the next generation of great companies will emerge from the MSME sector. Equally important are the MBA institutions and educational ecosystems that serve as the feeder channel for future leaders and professionals. We wanted to contribute to both—helping organizations build stronger workplaces while preparing future talent to thrive in them.

At Githam Consulting, our brand promise is ” Empowering People Possibilities.” We do this by combining focused Talent Management and Leadership Development with Mental Wellness, creating workplaces where people grow, perform, and succeed—while enabling businesses to achieve sustainable growth.

What Is The Most Challenging Aspect Of Your Business?

The biggest challenge is changing the perception that people initiatives are optional. We believe that talent, leadership, culture, and mental wellness are fundamental drivers of business success, not support functions. Much of our work involves helping organizations—especially MSMEs—see people development as a strategic investment that directly impacts growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

What Was The Most Pivotal Accident, Or Unexpected Discovery You Made Towards Your Success?

To be candid, we believe our biggest breakthrough is still ahead of us. While we currently operate in the consulting and Fractional CHRO space, our long-term vision is to build an integrated platform that combines Talent Management, Leadership Development, and Mental Wellness into a single ecosystem.

What has surprised us most is the sheer scale of opportunity within the MSME sector. Many businesses continue to rely on traditional people practices, where performance management is largely transactional, talent development is often reactive, and succession planning receives limited attention. Yet these very organizations have immense growth potential.

This realization has reinforced our belief that the future of business growth will be shaped not just by technology or capital, but by how effectively organizations attract, develop, engage, and retain talent. The opportunity to create impact in this space is enormous, and that discovery continues to drive our journey.

Every Success Story Has A Failure Story Hidden In It. We Would Like To Know Your Hidden Story?

Our hidden story is one of patience and perseverance. As a bootstrapped startup, the challenge has never been a lack of vision—it has been finding the resources to build it at the pace we desire.

We are working toward creating an integrated Talent Management, Leadership Development, and Mental Wellness platform, but instead of chasing growth at any cost, we have chosen to build credibility through consulting and Fractional CHRO partnerships. Funding constraints, slower-than-expected market adoption, and scaling challenges have all been part of the journey.

If there is one lesson hidden in our story, it is this: resilience is not just something we teach organizations—it is something we practice every day. Our biggest successes have emerged from our willingness to keep moving forward, even when the path has been uncertain.

Your Suggestion To The Startup Companies And Entrepreneurs?

My advice to startups and entrepreneurs is simple: have a clear purpose beyond profits. Markets change, technologies evolve, and competition intensifies, but a strong sense of purpose provides direction during uncertainty and resilience during setbacks.

Equally important is how you lead. I encourage founders to embrace the AVEP-RR Framework—Authenticity, Values, Emotional Intelligence, Purpose, Resilience, and Responsibility.** Be authentic in your actions, anchor decisions in strong values, understand and connect with people through emotional intelligence, stay committed to your purpose, develop resilience to navigate challenges, and take responsibility for the impact you create.

Startups are ultimately built by people, not just products or funding. Founders who invest early in culture, leadership, talent development, and employee wellbeing create organizations that are not only successful but also sustainable. In the long run, the businesses that thrive are those that build trust, develop people, and remain true to their purpose.

What Is Success According To You?

For me, success is the ability to create impact beyond yourself. It is not just about building a profitable business; it is about helping people grow, organizations thrive, and leaving things better than you found them.

If our work empowers individuals, strengthens cultures, improves well-being, and enables businesses to realize their full potential, then we are successful. In essence, success is about Empowering People Possibilities—for employees, leaders, organizations, and society at large.

Who/What Is Your Greatest Inspiration And Why?

My greatest inspiration is Lord Krishna. His leadership was not theoretical—it was delivered on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, helping people make difficult decisions in moments of uncertainty. In many ways, that mirrors what we do today as advisors to MSMEs and startups, helping leaders navigate their own talent and business challenges.

I am also deeply inspired by Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya, whose partnership demonstrates the power of vision, strategy, talent, and institution-building. Leaders such as Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Rajaraja Chola, and Krishnadevaraya further reinforce the values of courage, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership.

Their stories remind me that great organizations, like great kingdoms, are built not merely on resources but on leadership, people, culture, and a higher purpose.

What Is Your Leadership Mantra?

Go for it – Take Chances- bounce back and Empower People Possibilities

What Is Your Life Mantra?

Character is Strategy—lead with purpose, grow through resilience, and create impact through people.

What Was The Most Challenging Part Of Your Journey Till Now?

The biggest challenge has been transforming a long-term vision into reality while operating as a bootstrapped startup. Building credibility, securing resources, and scaling at the desired pace have not always been easy. However, the journey has reinforced one lesson: resilience, patience, and purpose are often more important than capital in the early stages of building a business.

How Do You Protect Yourself From The Problem Of Brain Drain?

You don’t prevent brain drain by holding on to people; you prevent it by building an organization people don’t want to leave. Strong leadership, meaningful work, growth opportunities, and a culture of trust are the most effective retention strategies.

According To You, What Are The Three Qualities An Individual Must Have To Achieve Success?

Know your purpose, strengthen your resilience, and never compromise your character.

Share A Quote That Inspires You The Most.

Character is Strategy; Purpose is the Compass.”

This belief guides my decisions as a leader, entrepreneur, and consultant. In a rapidly changing world, strategies evolve and circumstances change, but strong character and a clear purpose remain timeless drivers of meaningful success.
